The appointments, made by The Attorney-General of Victoria, Jacyln Symes, are a huge honour for the barristers concerned. Both immensely respected figures within the Victorian justice system, each brings a wealth of expertise to their new roles.

An experienced senior public defender and trial advocate, HH Magistrate Jarrod Williams is widely renowned for his success in criminal advocacy, with particular focus on serious indictable crime. Prior to being welcomed to the bar, he worked in private litigation practice and as a lawyer for Victoria Legal Aid.

HH Magistrate Malcolm Thomas is a seasoned barrister with decades of experience at the Victorian Bar. With an impressive reputation before the courts for his work in serious crime, he specialises in importation, commercial drug trafficking, and homicide offences.

Jason Gullaci SC (pictured above) had the honour of making the welcome speech at the Bench Welcome ceremony.
