Biography

Briana accepts briefs in criminal and quasi-criminal matters, as well as in intervention orders proceedings, cases in the Family Division of the Children’s Court and in family law.

She is an experienced advocate who regularly appears in contested proceedings in a range of jurisdictions. Briana has specialised experience representing children and young people in all types of criminal and protection matters.

Her criminal practices involves briefs to advise and appear in all areas of criminal law with a focus on indictable crime, appeals, proceeds of crime and post-sentence supervision order proceedings.

Prior to coming to the Bar, Briana practiced as a criminal defence solicitor at Victoria Legal Aid in general crime and in the youth crime team, regularly appearing in both summary and indictable matters. She was also the Criminal Division Senior Legal Registrar at the Supreme Court of Victoria, where she managed the Division’s criminal applications, court administration activities and legal policy.

Briana was associate to the Honourable Justice Hollingworth in the Supreme Court of Victoria.

Briana read with Sarah Keating and her senior mentor is Sally Flynn KC.
