Felicity accepts briefs in criminal, regulatory and quasi criminal matters (including OH&S prosecutions and inquiries).
Criminal law
Felicity has a broad criminal practice, and appears both led and unled in a range of County Court, Supreme Court and Court of Appeal matters. Felicity participated in the 2020 VLA Trial Counsel Development Program. She holds an Indictable Crime Certificate, and is on VLA’s Preferred Barrister List.
Quasi-criminal matters
Felicity has significant experience in advising in relation to, and appearing, both for and against regulatory prosecuting authorities, including ASIC, WorkSafe, EPA, Agriculture Victoria, Victorian Fisheries Authority, and local municipal councils. She has appeared in Coronial Inquests, IBAC Public hearings, matters under the Serious Offenders Act 2018 provisions, and also has experience in drafting relevant documents in proceeds of crime matters.
Background
Prior to coming to the bar, Felicity was a solicitor at Herbert Smith Freehills, and worked as the Senior Associate to the Honourable Justice Redlich in the Court of Appeal. She was also a solicitor in the appellate division of the Office of Public Prosecutions. Felicity also has experience in policy and legal advice for government, having worked as a legal adviser within the Office of General Counsel for the Department of Premier and Cabinet.
Felicity has taught evidence, ethics, and criminal law, at Victoria University and Monash University.
Felicity holds a Bachelor of Civil Laws from the University of Oxford. Additionally, she graduated second in her cohort at Monash University (with Honours), and recieved a number of prizes, including the Jeffrey L Sher Prize for Trial Practice & Advocacy.
Felicity read with Christopher Carr SC. Her senior mentor was the Honourable Justice Harris.
