Louis accepts briefs in criminal law and quasi-criminal matters.
Prior coming to the Bar, Louis was a partner at Slades & Parsons. He was accredited by the Law Institute of Victoria as a criminal law specialist and was nominated as a rising star in criminal law by Doyle’s Guide in 2020 and 2022.
As a solicitor advocate, Louis regularly appeared in court in a range of criminal proceedings including summary matters in the Magistrates’ Court, committal proceedings, plea hearings and sentence appeals in the County Court and cases heard in the Magistrates and County Drug and Alcohol Treatment Court.
His practice as solicitor also involved maintaining carriage of complex and high profile cases in the County and Supreme Courts including cases of homicide, terrorism, fraud, sophisticated drug trafficking, regulatory prosecutions and higher court criminal appeals including appeals to the High Court of Australia.
