Since coming to the bar, Lucien has appeared in trials in the Supreme and County Courts, appeals to the Court of Appeal and many other kinds of criminal proceedings in all jurisdictions in Victoria. He has appeared in trials involving charges of terrorism, murder, complex drug offences, sexual offences, violent offences and property offences. He has appeared, mainly as sole counsel, in appeals against both conviction and sentence in the Court of Appeal and in judicial review proceedings in the Supreme Court.
Before coming to the bar, Lucien gained experience as a solicitor advocate at Robert Stary & Associates (now Stary Norton Halphen), and previously at the Sunshine Youth Legal Centre.
Lucien has an Indictable Crime Certificate and is on the VLA Criminal Trial Preferred Barrister list. He is currently recommended as junior counsel by Doyle’s Guide.
He read with David Hallowes SC, with Neil Clelland as his senior mentor.
