Rebecca is an experienced advocate who accepts briefs to appear in criminal and quasi-criminal matters.
Prior to signing the bar roll, Rebecca was a Principal Solicitor at the Office of Public Prosecutions. She prosecuted all manner of indictable offences, from the Magistrates’ Court to the High Court of Australia, and appeared regularly including before the Court of Appeal.
Rebecca has particular skill in written advocacy, having prepared many written cases for matters for use before the Court of Appeal. She has extensive experience supporting vulnerable people through the legal process, and excellent skills in conferencing. Rebecca’s depth of experience allows her to secure the best result for her clients, whether through negotiation out of court or persuasive advocacy before judicial officers. Rebecca has completed cultural safety training through the Koori Heritage Trust.
Rebecca was previously the Senior Associate to the Chief Justice of Victoria, the Honourable Anne Ferguson. She has also worked in legal policy, designing reforms to assist survivors of sexual abuse with gaining compensation.
Rebecca graduated from the University of Sydney with first class honours in Law.
